The majority of the City of Crestwood is served by the Lindbergh School District. Small portions are located within the Affton & Webster Groves Districts.
Lindbergh School District
The district is classified AAA by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Due to a large commercial tax base (a significant portion of which is located within Crestwood) the District maintains the lowest property tax rate in St. Louis County. Additionally, the Lindbergh District is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is a member of the College Board Association.

Parent and community volunteers and involved parent groups have worked together with the staff and students of Crestwood to create an atmosphere dedicated to meeting the highest standards of academic expectations while considering the best interests of children and their families. Crestwood School is committed to an education which respects and nurtures diversity and individual learning styles, enabling students to reach their potential and become responsible citizens and life-long learners.

KENNERLY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Since 1961, Kennerly Elementary School has been a scholastic beacon, where families are invited to share the educational experiences of their children. Parents, as well as community members, have teamed with the talented professional staff at Kennerly to create a school environment that is challenging and rewarding to the diverse needs of each young learner. “Friends Learning Together,” Kennerly’s school motto, exemplifies our mission at Kennerly: “…to involve the entire Kennerly family in creating a child-centered environment where individuals are challenged to become responsible, productive, lifelong learners.” Located on the southwestern edge of St. Louis County, Kennerly School sits on land that was once farmed by the Wohlschlaeger family. When the school was dedicated in 1961, it stood proudly amid the surrounding agricultural community. Not until the opening of St. Anthony’s Medical Center in 1975, did the area transition from rural to suburban. Even today, Kennerly Elementary School sits on 16 acres and boasts a student-created-and-maintained nature trail comprised of over 30 mature trees from the original farm. Indeed, Kennerly School is a landmark in the Tesson Ferry Road area west of I-270 in the Lindbergh School District.

LINDBERGH HIGH SCHOOL
Lindbergh Senior High School has served the community for over fifty years. Records show that Lindbergh High School was originally housed in the Sappington School building in September 1950, and was called Grandview High School. The name was later changed to Lindbergh High School in the honor of the famous aviator, Charles A. Lindbergh, when the new high school was built in 1958. Additions have since been made to the senior high buildings, which now comprise our campus at 4900 South Lindbergh Boulevard. In 1987, the district proudly added a new facility at the high school when the first gym and cafeteria were remodeled into an auditorium, music and drama center. In 1995, the passage of Proposition “R” allowed extensive renovation and improvements to be made to the high school campus.
The year 1954 marked the first high school graduation class from the district. There were fifty graduated that year. Ten short years later, the graduation class numbered three hundred and five (305), and approximately nine hundred and thirty-six (936) graduated in 1978. In 2000 three hundred seventy-one (371) students graduated.

LONG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Long School opened in September of 1960, one year after the opening of Crestwood and the year before Kennerly. All three schools were of similar size and design. Long was named for John Fenton Long, son of William Lindsey Long and his wife, Elizabeth Sappington. He was born at White Haven on Aug. 29, 1816. Long grew up on his father’s farm opposite Grant’s Farm off Pardee Road. He opened a private school on Oct. 1, 1836 in the Gravois Settlement on what is now Grant’s Farm. He was referred to as a “rare teacher of schools”. When U.S. Grant was president, he appointed John Fenton Long, his good friend, to the post of United States Surveyor and Collector of Customs and Disbursing Agent for The Port of St.Louis. Julia Dent, Grant’s wife, had been a former pupil of Long’s at the old Rock School located where Sappington School now stands. John Long handled all the business affairs of General Grant in Missouri during the time Grant was president. Since it opened in 1960 Long School has had six principals. They include: Mr. Carl Sartorius, Mr. George Pachiva, Mrs. Mary Clyburn, Mr. Arthur Huskey, Ms. Nancy Furgerson, Mrs. Tracy Edwards and currently Mr. Brian McKenney.
