ATTENTION
CRESTWOOD CAT OWNERS
"Leash Law" For Cats

Revised municipal code, approved by the Board of Aldermen in April of 2007, mandates that cat owners must keep there cats on there own property.
Any cats off there owner's property and not on a leash will be regarded as "at large" and, if reported to Animal Control, will be live-trapped and impounded.
If you encounter problems in converting your cat from an outdoor to an indoor lifestyle, call Animal Control at 729-4868 for helpful suggestions.

2010 Pet Tags Available after November 15

Municipal Ordinance 1750 requires pet owners to purchase city registration tags on an annual basis for dogs and cats. These tags are on sale now through March 1 at Crestwood Community Center in Whitecliff Park. Residents are reminded to bring a current rabies vaccination certificate or a veterinarian’s print-out of their pet’s vaccination record.

Volunteers Needed!

Because of staffing cuts, it is no longer possible for Crestwood Animal Control to offer its services seven days a week. However, since the Animal Care Facilities Act mandates that care be provided for shelter animals every 12 hours, it has been necessary to find volunteers who can feed and clean the animals on Saturdays and Sundays (when the shelter is officially closed), either in the morning or in the evening, for an hour or so. Because the shelter is so small and our animal load is usually limited to six animals or less, cleaning and feeding chores are minimal, leaving lots of time for “fun” chores like walking the dogs in the park or spending some one-on-one time with the cats. Suzie is determined to continue to provide the top notch care that Crestwood Animal Control is famous for, but she can’t work seven days a week. If you’d like to help out, call 314-729-4868, leaving a message for her if necessary.
