The Crestwood Veterans Memorial Committee, at its regular meeting on June 10, 2010, reviewed possible plans and ideas for the current Veterans Memorial located at the north side of City Hall.  The Committee was reestablished under Ordinance 1028 dated 12/12/1967 to assure continuing recognition of the City’s Veterans, particularly those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their country.

Initial plans are for two phases, enhancement and expansion.  Enhancement of the Memorial will include updating the list of those veterans to be recognized, increased visibility, lighting and visitor amenities.  The expansion phase to be done later as needed to assure continuing support and recognition of Crestwood’s Veterans.

No tax funds will be used in either phase.  Only public funds secured through donation will be used for the two phases.  The Committee is formulating a pledge program as part of its fundraising efforts.

The Veterans Memorial Committee meets regularly with meeting dates and times published on the Crestwood City website www.ci.crestwood.mo.us.  Visitors are welcome to attend the meetings.
