| WHITECLIFF PARK | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In 1971 the Crestwood Board of Aldermen had great forethought to realize that an old abandoned quarry adjacent to a small eight-acre park was a treasure to preserve. That quarry is now part of the eighty-five acre Whitecliff Park, the largest of Crestwood’s seven parks. The City has been very careful to preserve 40 wooded acres of the park to provide a passive oasis in the midst of a bustling community of both neighborhoods and thriving retail areas. The wooded area of the park includes walking trails that lead around the quarry and to various parts of the park.
Also found in Whitecliff Park is the Crestwood Aquatic Center, multi-purpose court, four tennis courts, tennis pavilion, playground and pavilion overlooking the aquatic center all completed during the summer of 2002. These facilities are in addition to an existing pavilion, deck/picnic area and a softball field. The park setting was carefully incorporated into the aquatic center with extensive landscaping and the natural area
