Finance Office personnel perform all City financial and accounting duties.  Principal operations include preparing and monitoring the annual budget, processing and maintaining payroll and employee benefits, processing and disbursing accounts payable and vendor payments, receiving and recording all City revenues, preparing and analyzing quarterly and annual financial statements, and overseeing the annual audit process.

The Finance Officer, Douglas Brewer, joined the City of Crestwood in May 2008.  He graduated from (Southwest) Missouri State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  Douglas immediately began his governmental career at the Office of Missouri State Auditor, working under the administrations of both Margaret Kelly and Claire McCaskill.  In this capacity, he performed county, city, school district and state agency audits throughout Missouri.  Next, he took the position of Corporate Retail Auditor at SUPERVALU, Inc., where he performed operational audits of grocery stores throughout the United States.  Douglas also served as the first Internal Auditor of Rowan County, North Carolina, before returning to Missouri in 2008.

 The Finance Officer reports to the City Administrator and supervises an Accountant and Accounting Clerk.
